Jabal Malaika (The Mountain of Angels) & The Battlefield of Badr
A journey to Badr is a journey back to the most defining moment in the early history of Islam. It was here, on the 17th of Ramadan in the second year of Hijrah (624 CE), that the first major battle between the nascent Muslim community and the powerful Quraish army took place.
Despite being vastly outnumbered, the Muslims achieved a decisive victory through their unwavering faith and the direct assistance of Allah (SWT). Jabal Malaika (The Mountain of Angels) overlooks this blessed battlefield, marking the spot where divine intervention turned the tide.

IMPORTANT LOCATION NOTE: Planning Your Visit
Badr is situated on the route between Makkah and Madinah.
Distance from Madinah: approximately 120 km (75 miles), Distance from Makkah: approximately 230 km (143 miles).
Due to the distances involved, this Ziyarat is most commonly and conveniently conducted as a day trip from Madinah. Travelers should plan for transportation and timing to ensure a meaningful visit to this historic and spiritually significant site.
The Spiritual Significance: The Day of Distinction (Yawm al-Furqan)

The Descent of the Angels
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) fervently prayed to Allah for help, knowing the gravity of the situation. Allah (SWT) answered his prayers by sending an army of angels, led by the Angel Jibreel (AS), to support and fight alongside the believers.
Jabal Malaika is the specific mountain where these angels are reported to have descended onto the battlefield. The Quran explicitly mentions this divine aid:
“[Remember] when you asked help of your Lord, and He answered you, ‘Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand from the angels, following one another.”
(Quran, Surah Al-Anfal 8:9)
“And Allah had already given you victory at Badr while you were few in number. Then fear Allah; perhaps you will be grateful.”
(Quran, Surah Al-Imran 3:123-124)

The Experience: Pray or sit quietly to connect with the historical and spiritual significance of leadership, patience, and trust in Allah.
The Battlefield (The Plains of Badr)
